A book that is set in the future! (So not my norm reading.) The U.S. has been taken over by the “pure movement”, a Christian political movement. Women, including girls and baby girls, are not allowed to speak more than 100 words a day. If they speak 101 words, they will be electric shocked from a bracelet on their arm that can’t be removed. A female doctor, Dr. McCellan, is needed to heal the president’s brother, but she needs to speak more than 100 words.
Political unease, family discord, women’s rights, and a world gone crazy. Sound familiar? It’s a page turner.
