Based on the true stories of the author’s grandmother, “Caddie Woodlawn” follows the adventures and mishaps of Caddie, the book’s tomboy heroine, and her brothers Tom and Warren.

They run into many difficult challenges (and some silly ones) including pigeon hunting, school trouble, scalp belts, a snobbish city cousin, and Caddie stepping up to save her Native American friends from near disaster.

I enjoyed this book because of the adventure, humor, and good morals that are weaved through it.
